I suspect that at some point the apple logo is not displayed anymore. Anyone else able to confirm this behaviour on Mavericks? I use this in my work on over Macs.

I have always had to restart in order to get the logo to appear. Strange that it works on logout, but not startup… I guess the only thing I can think is to boot into Safe Mode hold Shift to flush out any cached files, and then reboot again.
