Sep 19, AM in response to reikonaga In response to reikonaga If it is the same as implied in the original post, it is an issue involving Microsoft Word, and the Apple Pages for Mac community is really not the best place to find a solution. If your issue does NOT involve Word, then it is NOT the "exact same problem," and until you tell us what the actual problem is, what software including version number , no one here will know what your problem is. If the problem isn't known, it's difficult to provide you with a solution.

The official manual of Pages says, that it is possible to select multiple object by clicking with pressing command or shift:. I do not know how to solve this problem - it should work correctly, due to description in manual. If it does not work, it means that there is a program incompatibility with the official description of its operation.

Finally, I will just add that the same symptoms of this problem not the same problem I noticed in Microsoft Word. Oct 28, PM.

Selecting all text in the active editor tab

Despite what you read from Pages Help, no release of Pages v5 or v6 supports the capability to select multiple, non-adjacent words, sentences, or paragraphs. This capability is found in Pages '09 v4. I am restating what I posted on above. The last "official manual" was the Pages '09 User Guide , and the instructions given were valid for the then current version, Pages 4.

Note the three instances of "on", all 'selected' in this Pages 4. Pages 5 was a new application, not a newer version of Pages 4. It did not include more than features including selection of non-contiguous blocks of text supported in Pages 4.

Select Sections of Non-Contiguous Text in Mac OS X with the Command key

Some features have returned in later updates to version 5 and in version 6, but, as noted earlier by VikingOSX, selection of non-contiguous blocks of text is not one of them. In this Pages 5 document, it was not possible to select the three instances of "on" without making a single selection that included all text between the first and last "on". Three objects Shapes could be selected click on the first, command click on each of the others. The behaviour is, I expect, the same in the current version, Pages 6. Selection of non-contiguous text is also supported in LibreOffice write documentsin the version and OS X version Im using, and may be possible with more recent versions as well.

Actions: Use Provide Pages Feedback in the Pages menu to send a request that this feature be included in Pages, or to send a bug report, reporting this behaviour as a bug. While waiting for that to happen, live without the feature, or use LibreOffice Write or another word processing application that does support it. LibreOffice free, donations to support future development requested. Question: Q: Selecting multiple words using command button in word More Less.
